Both can serve a private journey; the booking process differs
Grab’s Thailand transport page says interprovincial GrabCar trips can be requested. That supports considering a BKK to Pattaya request, but it does not confirm a driver, category or departure for your own arrival. Enter the exact destination and inspect the options available at the time.
With an arranged private transfer, ask the provider to confirm the trip and requirements before you travel. A private-transfer request is not automatically a confirmed car either. Check what the confirmation means, when driver details arrive and who to contact if plans change.

Compare a full vehicle total with a full vehicle total
Grab advertises upfront prices for its car services excluding tolls and surcharges; service details can differ. Check the information for the selected ride and the applicable extras before confirming. Do not use a screenshot from another traveller or an old blog estimate as your current fare.
For a transfer quote, ask whether tolls, parking, the agreed destination and requested equipment are covered. Compare in the same currency and check whether a number is per person or per vehicle. Check live prices for the same route and equipment requirements when you make the comparison; a quote can change before you book.
Check the current scheduling option, not a blanket claim
Grab offers advance booking, so it would be misleading to describe every Grab ride as on-demand. Its September 2026 BKK announcement also described a flight-aware Airport Pickup rollout planned for the fourth quarter. Published help and rollout information may differ while features change.
For your date, inspect what the app actually offers at BKK. Check whether you are choosing a regular scheduled ride or a flight-aware pickup, what happens after a delay and what waiting or cancellation terms apply. Do not assume a feature advertised for another airport applies to the service you selected.
Know where to go and what needs to fit
AOT identifies the designated Grab pickup at Level 1, Gate 4. Follow current in-app instructions and airport signs for your ride. A private-transfer provider may use a different arrangement; the airport’s Grab point does not assign that provider’s meeting location.
For either option, include all passengers, cases, strollers and required restraints. A category label alone does not establish the luggage arrangement or a suitable child seat. If these requirements determine whether you can travel, resolve them before relying on the ride.
